Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and Prudential Insurance Company on Saturday held the 6th Billiard Press Contest in Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta.
The contest attracted 74 contestants including reporters, journalists and freelance writers from more than 40 news agencies, radio stations and press representative offices from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta.
The opening ceremony of the contest was attended by Tran Viet Truong, Head of Propaganda Department of Party Committee of Can Tho City; Tran Trung Nhan, Director of Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho City; Giang Minh Chanh, Chairman of Press Association; Tran Phuong Lan, Director of Prudential Insurance Company in Can Tho; and Nguyen Thanh Long, Director of Can Tho Sugar Company.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Tien Tuyen, SGGP Deputy Editor- in- Chief said that Billiards is one of the activities in the framework of the 88th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
This is an advantageous opportunity for journalists in the Mekong Delta region to meet and exchange experiences with each other.
On behalf of the Editorial Board of SGGP Newspaper, Le Tien Tuyen thanked supporters and donors such as Prudential Insurance Company, Can Tho Sugar Company, Gentraco Company and Saigon Beer.
According to Le Thanh Binh, head of the representative office of SGGP News in Mekong Delta, the Press Billiard Contest is held annually on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
