Vietnamese striker Le Cong Vinh has been short listed for the 2013 best player in Southeast Asia Award, organised by the prestigious sports online newspaper Goal.
The three-time Vietnamese Golden Ball winner top scorer in the V-League this season with 14 goals from 17 games.
He will be up against many strong rivals such as Shahril Ishak and Hariss Harun from Singapore, Teerasil Dangda from Thailand and Malaysian Safee Sali.
Previously, Goal had named the 50 best players in the world, with Argentinian striker Lionel Messi edging past many strong nominees such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Franck Ribery to take first place.-VNS
