Party delegation welcomed in Nicaragua

(VOV) – A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and member of the Party’s Secretariat, started an official visit to Nicaragua on August 31.


On August 31 and September 2 the delegation attended welcome ceremonies in capital Managua, Sandino city, and districts of San Marcos, Masatepe, Diriamba, and Jinotepe of Carazo province.


All leaders of these localities expressed their admiration for Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence and unification, as well as great achievements in national development, considering them a source of encouragement to Nicaragua’s development process.


They said despite the geographical distance, both countries have shared a common idea of building socialism in the interests of their people.


They spoke highly of the traditional friendship between Nicaragua and Vietnam and proposed both countries further strengthen cooperative ties, especially in economics, trade and investment.


For his part, Hong Anh highly valued the achievements that Nicaragua people have made in recent times under the leadership of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) and President Daniel Ortega, to build a socialist, Christian and united nation, for social equality, national conciliation and happiness of all working people.


During their stay, the Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths at the monuments of Commander Carlos Fonseca Amador, Tomas Borge and Colonel Santos Lopez who founded the FSLN.
