VietNamNet Bridge – Have you ever dreamed to be an archer, fencing competitor or professional skater? Saigon Fun Club’s new playground in District 5 is recommended as venue for you to find out your sports passion as well as to conquer your fears, correct personal limits and to improve some soft skills.
Located at 105 Tran Hung Dao Street, Saigon Fun Club offers Saigon dwellers one more venue to explore their hobbies in hockey, archery, bungee trampoline, fencing and skating. Hoang Anh, the owner of the club, who is considered as a pioneer to bring many new games to Saigonese, said: “I love sports and I know many people love such games too, so that is the reason why I would like to expand the service to share my passion with them.”
Opened late last month, the playground is still to be further improved. “It will be completed in one month and guests will be entertained not only by playing games but also by the fantastic decorations here,” said Anh.
“I come here every single day to practice archery, not only because I like the game but also to improve concentration, confidence as well as endurance,” said Tran Tuan Minh, a local player in HCMC.
Archery is the art, and historically, archery has been used in hunting and combat, while in modern time, its main use is that of a recreational activity. Enthusiasts there will be instructed on the basics of the game, including archery safety. Archers will be given protective equipments such as bracer as an arm-guard, finger tab and chestguard.
Nguyen Tien Dung, an archery addict, said “Concentration is also another benefit from this game, so I can relax and forget daily worries as well as to develop concentration to get a positive impact on my mental health and wellbeing.”
The indoor field is also decorated with artificial lianas, grass, animals and moving targets so toxophilites can feel as if they are playing in a natural terrain. Archers in higher levels are also required to experience in real terrains.
Meanwhile, Tran Hoang Dung, a ten-year-old girl who is able to play all games there, said “I love sports and I love arts too, so I come here to experience both and I enjoy playing hockey, skating, archery as well as skate-rolling.”
“Skate-rolling attracts many kids as it helps them keep good control and balance, and then have a more positive outlook on life,” said Dao Thi Le, manager of the club. She said guests are of all ages and genders. “Games seem to be for men, but actually they are also for women also to help them improve their body limits as well as explore their talents in sports and arts,” she added.
Also, fencing is the sport of fighting with swords and is listed as a martial art. Like other games, fencing brings about physical benefits such as coordination, agility, balance, flexibility, strength as well as cardiovascular endurance. Moreover, players can also improve focus, hand-eye coordination and problem solving.
Players have to pay VND35,000 per 90 minutes for skate-rolling, VND40,000 per 30 minutes for archery, VND50,000 every 60 minutes for fencing and VND70,000 per 45 minutes for outdoor archery.
The club also holds competitions and offline meetings for each game.
