VGP – The Ministry of Health on February 14 handed over two mobile HIV testing centers, which are funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, to Thanh Hoa and Dien Bien provinces.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Long affirmed the importance of the project to the HIV/AIDS prevention and control work in Viet Nam.
In recent time, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has assisted the ministry in realizing a number of measures to strengthen the capacity of the health sector including investment in infrastructure and equipment to control HIV/AIDS.
Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Trịnh Văn Chiến pledged that his province will use the facility effectively to enhance the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
Thanh Hoa and Dien Bien have the highest HIV infections, mostly found in remote, mountainous areas and among ethnic minority groups.
