From June 24 to July 1, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will organise a programme to promote tourism in two of Russia’s largest cities, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The programme expects to introduce new tourism destinations and products, mechanisms and policies to encourage Russian travel businesses and investors to pay more attention to Vietnam’s tourism attractions.

The event will offer opportunities for Vietnamese tourism businesses to meet, discuss and cooperate with Russian travel agencies. Moreover, contracts are expected to be signed between the two sides to exploit tourist markets and survey tourism products.

Currently, Russia tops among the biggest tourist markets in Vietnam. According to statistics, in 2013, the number of Russian tourists to Vietnam increased 71% from the previous year. In the first four months this year, Vietnam greeted more than 155,000 Russian tourists, a year-on-year rise of 37.4%. With busy tourism promotion activities in Russia, Vietnam expects to be an attractive destination for the land of birch-trees in the near future./.
