The country’s industrial production index was up 5.8 percent in the first half this year over the same period last year, according to reports at a conference of industry and trade departments from five largest cities in Da Nang City on July 11.

The five cities include Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Can Tho.
Total retail sales of goods and consumption service revenue was estimated to reach VND1,439 trillion (US$67.97 billion), up 10.7 percent year on year. Export turnover hit US$70.9 billion, up 14.9 percent.
