This year’s spring-summer crop is the first time Hai Duong municipal authorities have deployed safe vegie production models in netted houses on a total area of over 1.5ha, consisting of 1.5ha in Viet Hoa ward and around 0.1ha in Thuong Dat commune.
Farmers conducting the above models are supported with nearly VND10 million to buy facilities for production and trained in planting and cultivating techniques.
The entire safe vegie area will be bought up by Hai Duong Xanh Company (Nam Sach district).
In the next crop, Hai Duong municipal authorities will continue to develop the models of producing safe wax gourds and tomatoes in about 3ha in An Chau and Thuong Dat communes each.
Farmers participating in the models will continue to be assisted with 50% of costs of seeds and fertilizers and trained in techniques to grow and tend the crops.
