(VOV) – A delegation from the Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) network has paid a working visit to Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Hanoi.

At a reception on January 20, VOV General Director Nguyen Dang Tien highlighted the results of bilateral cooperation in giving effect to projects within the framework of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI).

VOV first signed a cooperative agreement on broadcasting with the Myanmar Radio and Television Department (MRTV) network in March 1998.

Since that time, VOV and MRTV have held numerous exchanges of high-level delegations and shared experiences in the broadcasting sector.

At the reception, VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien, Myanmar Information Minister Ye Htut and MRTV Director Myo Myint Aung agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2015.

Under the agreement, both sides have agreed to cooperate in the fields of music, film, sports, arts and producing broadcasting and television programmes promoting tourism.

General Director Tien emphasized that VOV has made remarkable developments over the past 70 years. With four media forms of broadcasting, television, print and online, VOV has aimed at becoming the leading multimedia group in Vietnam.

He said both nations have actively consolidated traditional friendship and all-round cooperation over the years. Vietnam has always supported Myanmar in the regional and international integration.

This has laid a solid foundation for VOV and Myanmar’s television and broadcasting sector to strengthen cooperation in the future.
