Politics -- Vietnam held ceremonies yesterday in Hanoi to celebrate the 85 th
anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2015).
— Ho Chi Minh City officials are to pay a visit to revolutionary families in such southern provinces as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Tien Giang, and Tra Vinh to honor their protection of soldiers and officials during wartime.

— Vietnam yesterday announced two emergency phone numbers for the protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad. They are 04.62 844 844 for domestic subscribers and 00.84.4.62 844 844 for foreign subscribers. The numbers are operational 24 hours a day.
— Ho Chi Minh City has received 12 modern fire-fighting vehicles imported from France.
— Most workers at industrial parks in Vietnam have no plan for the future, according to a survey carried out by the Institute for European Studies and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, which was announced on Monday.
— The Government Inspectorate has proposed punishing the People’s Committee of the northern province of Cao Bang for their responsibility for wrongdoing unearthed in mineral exploitations valued at nearly VND47 billion (US$2.26 million).
— Ho Chi Minh City will kick off two projects on environmental hygiene in 2015 with a total investment of VND22.4 trillion ($1.1 billion).
— A restaurant in the southern beach city of Vung Tau has been suspended for charging a Japanese customer nearly VND20 million ($962) more than the regulated price.
— Ho Chi Minh City will cut down 116 trees and relocate 17 others to make way for construction projects near Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

— The State Bank of Vietnam announced Monday that it had bought all shares of the Vietnam Bank of Construction at VND0. The central bank has thus become the owner of 100 percent of the charter capital of the construction bank.
— The Nguyen Kim commercial company and Central Group Vietnam announced their strategic cooperation agreement on Monday which is meant to lead Nguyen Kim to become the leading retailer of electronic goods for domestic use in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
— Ho Chi Minh City is to set up a center for aiding tourists in the second quarter of this year to provide official information and deal with problems they face in the city.
— Ho Chi Minh City has organized inspection teams to check the transport prices of some transport companies.
