NDO – A traditional revolutionary get-together was organised on February 23 at Gia Dinh Temple, Phu Hiep hamlet, Phu My Hung commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.
The gathering saw the presence of former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, senior revolutionaries, Vietnamese heroic mothers and representatives from agencies, departments and organisations of the city.
The delegates reviewed the revolutionary tradition of soldiers and people in Sai Gon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh region, and their creative and brave fights against enemies to win the 1975 Spring Victory, liberating the south and unifying the country.
Secretary Hai stressed the great sacrifices and merits of the soldiers and people to the national victory, saying that Ho Chi Minh City would continue the tradition to better industrialisation and modernisation for a prosperous and strong nation, democracy, equality and civilisation.
Addressing the gathering, former PM Khai highlighted the event’s significance in commemorating and honouring fallen soldiers and people who sacrificed their life for the nation’s independence, reminding younger generations about their predecessors’ patriotism and reviewing the history to nourish love for the motherland.
A temple worshipping the fallen soldiers and people in Sai Gon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh region has been built in Cu Chi district.
