The Hanoitimes – DHL Logistics Company recently announced a plan to add €10 million (US$13 million) to its subsidiary DHL Supply Chain Viet Nam, with aim to improve and expand its services in Viet Nam.
DHL plans to invest in new facilities, IT solutions including warehousing management system, transport fleet and workforce.
With an additional investment of $13 million, DHL Supply Chain Viet Nam plans to increase the number of employees by more than 170 percent, creating 1,400 new jobs. By 2015, the company is expected to have 2,200 employees in Viet Nam.
The investment of DHL also includes an increase of its warehouse space in Viet Nam by over 50% (from 91,000 sq. m to 141,000 sq. m by 2015), growing the transportation fleet over 160%, deploying over 100 vehicles in the next two years, etc.
In addition, DHL also announced the building of the second 10,000 sq. m built-to-suit distribution center in BacNinhProvince will be completed by the third quarter of 2013. The company also expands its office in Ha Noi, expands its functions to take responsibility for the whole Northern region of Viet Nam.
DHL Supply Chain began operating in Viet Nam since 2001; it has now a market leading position in the retail, technology and consumer sectors, operating out of 25 locations across the country.
DHL Supply Chain Viet Nam was established in 2001 and until now has achieved an average annual growth rate of 45% with 25 agencies across the country.
