Vietnamese nationals living in big cities in South Korea can now easily use ATMs there, as the machines display their mother language.
Most major banks in the country, including Hana Bank, Kukmin Bank, Citibank, Woori Bank, Nonghyup Bank, and Korea Post Bank, have ATMs in Vietnamese, according to insiders.
Each have 800 to 1,000 such machines, they said.
There are currently some 110,564 Vietnamese living and working in South Korea, according to government figures.
Around 64,000 of these are guest workers, 37,000 are marriage migrants, and some 3,000 overseas students.
Some 10,000 marriage migrants have been granted South Korean citizenship.
Vietnam has more women married to South Korean husbands than almost any other country.
A recent statistic showed that there may be as many as 50,000 Vietnamese brides in the country.
Vietnam is also among the 14 countries that send workers to South Korea.
The majority of Vietnamese workers in South Korea work in production and manufacturing (over 78 percent), followed by 10.5 percent in agriculture and more than 9 percent who work in construction, according to the Department of Overseas Labor Management.
The rest work in fisheries (1.7 per cent) and the service sector (0.2 per cent).
