Mid-summer heavy rain, cold weather in Northern Region

The ongoing cold front across the northern region also brought in heavy rainfall and plunged temperatures on June 10, putting an end to the scorching summer heat, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.

Luu Minh Hai, director of the Meteorological Center in Lao Cai Province, said temperatures dropped to as much as 16 degrees celsius in Sa Pa Town in Lao Cai Province.


The cold front also generated strong northeasterly winds together with heavy rains in the Gulf of Tonkin.
