There were 45 scholarships valued at VND10 million each and 74 soft-skill training sessions from Click Communication to students of Vietnam National University in HCMC (University of Technology, University of Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCMC Foreign Trade University and Banking University, among others).
The Assessment Process for AmCham Scholarship 2013 included five phases: Application Form Screening, English Test (Axcela Test format), Abilities Test (SHL Test), Career Harmony Assessment (ProfileXT) and Interview with specialists from AmCham HR Committee. The process was similar to the recruitment process at many multinational companies, which helped comprehensively evaluate the candidates’ abilities and equip them with vital skills for entering a professional working environment. Applications were distributed evenly in all majors. Especially in technical majors, in which AmCham awarded scholarships to 10 students, there was an increase of 67% in applications compared to last year.
Initially, AmCham offered 10 scholarships to students at three universities in 2001. In the last 13 years, scholarships have been awarded to 360 winners and 253 runners-up from 11 universities in HCMC.
