Recently, at Nghia An commune, the vocational training center of Binh Son district in collaboration with the Institute of Fisheries Science and Technology – Nha Trang University opened the vocational training course for captains, chief engineers of the fishing vessels (4th level) in 2013.
The course attracted 35 participants coming from two coastal communes of Nghia An and Phu Nghia, Tu Nghia district.
These trainees were equipped with the basic knowledge about professional captain of fishing boat, maritime operation, vessel safety and sea law. After the course, they were also rêcived vocational certificates by the Institute of Fisheries Science and Technology under the Decision No. 77/2008/QD- BNN of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Said by fisherman Vo Van Banh, Tan An village, Nghia An commune: “I have closely worked with seafaring more than 20 years by practical captain skills from generation to generation. So, I’m happy when joining this important course. ”
Currently, to manage and control large-capacity fishing ships (>90 CV), as required, fishermen must ensure adequate procedures, particularly have certificates of fishing vessel captains or chief engineers in exploitation of the sea.
