The facility is set up like a studio boasting modern equipment like cameras, printers and an exhibition corner. Children can access photography knowledge provided by Canon experts and learn how to take pictures at different locations with different themes like studio photos or reportage photos. They can exhibit their works at the institute after completing a course.
Canon expects the institute will be an interesting place for children in the capital to receive vocational guidance and improve their creativity.
“We have had the chance to go to many regions in Vietnam to teach children to take photos in the program “Canon- For future generation”. We realize that kids are very talented in the art of photography. The establishment of the institute aims to develop photographers of the future,” said Nick Yoshida, chairman and CEO of Canon Marketing Vietnam, in a statement.
The photography institute model has been carried out by Canon in China, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.
On the same day, it opened its first Image Square at the newly-built Vincom Royal City Nguyen Trai. Image Square is the brand name of a chain of stores retailing high-quality products made by Canon, such as digital cameras, accessories and lenses, video cameras, photo printers and inkjet printers. At the event, Canon’s distributor Le Bao Minh also offered the Membership Card Program which gives customers 49% discount on some products during opening week.
