Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has reaffirmed that the Communist Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam will always pay tribute to the contribution and sacrifices made by war veterans, martyrs and those who struggled for national independence and unification.
The deputy PM made the statement on July 6, while receiving a visiting group of national heroes from central Quang Tri province in Hanoi.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan called on people who have made great contributions to the development and security of the nation to uphold the spirit of the revolution and to set a fine example for the next generation.
He also called on local authorities to help improve the lives of these people, citing the example of preferential policies that have been introduced for the heroes living in Quang Tri.
