Two steel flyovers at the intersections of Ba Thang Hai-Nguyen Tri Phuong-Ly Thai To Streets in District 10, and Hoang Hoa Tham-Cong Hoa Streets in Tan Binh District in Ho Chi Minh City were opened for traffic on August 27.

The Ba Thang Hai-Nguyen Tri Phuong-Ly Thai To flyover covers a length of 384 meters and width of 9.5 meters, and was built at a cost of VND318.7 billion (US$15 million).
The Hoang Hoa Tham-Cong Hoa flyover is 268 meters long and 9.5 meters wide, and was built at a cost of VND247 billion (US$ 11.6 million).
The overpasses are expected to open to traffic on September 27, contributing to easing congestion in the City, and the project’s contractor, Vietnam Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation (IDICO), is trying to complete the structure one month ahead of schedule.
Apart from the two flyovers, a steel flyover across Cay Go Roundabout in District 6 will open to traffic by end of September. The flyover will be the third in the planning and will cost VND1 trillion.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Huu Tin, Deputy Chairman of the City People’s Committee, stressed that traffic jams in the City have become more severe recently especially at intersections and roundabouts. To overcome these obstacles, the City has built many important traffic infrastructure projects including Vo Van Kiet Highway; and Rach Chiec, Phu Long, My Thuy, Bang Ky Bridges.
The opening of the flyovers was attended by Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee; Pham Quy Tieu, Deputy Transport Minister; Nguyen Huu Tin, Deputy Chairman of the City People’s Committee and several representatives from related agencies.
