BUDAPEST (VNS)— Viet Nam is keen to create the best possible conditions for Hungarian businesses investing in the Southeast Asian country, stated Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan during talks with his host and counterpart Semjen Zsolt in Budapest on Monday.

The Deputy PM is making an official visit to the European country from July 27-31 at the invitation of Deputy PM Zsolt.

Zsolt confirmed that Hungary sees Viet Nam as an important partner in its international assistance policy and is willing to step up co-operation with Viet Nam in fields that both countries are strong in.

Hungary will also continue to support the Vietnamese community in the country to thrive and do business, he said.

They discussed ways of strengthening their traditional friendship and the ties that both countries have enjoyed over the past 60 years.

They also examined how to improve the effectiveness of the Joint Committee on Economic Co-operation as well as Hungarian funded projects in Viet Nam.

Included on the agenda were joint education and training projects that focus on human resources, especially training for nuclear power technicians and developing the Viet Nam-Hungary University in Ha Noi into an advanced training centre.

Both parties looked at more effective ways of sharing their experiences in the management of science-technology and speeding up the negotiations for signing an agreement on co-operation in training, research and technological management when utilising atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

They also discussed how to step up agricultural co-operation and encouraged future ties in culture and tourism whilst agreeing to collaborate further at the UN and other international forums.

Both leaders witnessed the signing of an agreement on an exchange programme between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Hungarian Human Resources Ministry, for the period 2013-15.

Nhan and his delegation also visited the Paks nuclear power plant later the same day. — VNS
