HK signs cooperation agreements with Argentina, Vietnam in belgium

The Hong Kong SAR Government’s Customs & Excise Department has entered into agreements with the governments of Argentina and Vietnam for strengthening bilateral ties as well as for combating transnational crime, the Information Services Department reported.

Commissioner of Customs & Excise Clement Cheung represented the SAR Government while signing the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Co-operation & Mutual Administrative Assistance on Thursday in Brussels, while Argentina’s Federal Administrator of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue Ricardo Echegaray signed the agreement on behalf of his government.

The Customs and Excise Commissioner of Hong Kong also signed a Customs Co-operative Arrangement with Vietnam’s Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Ngoc Tuc on Friday.

Both the agreements were signed by the official when he was attending the 121st /122nd Sessions of the Customs Co-operation Council.

So far, the Hong Kong SAR Government has signed 20 such co-operative agreements with its counterparts.
