Nai wins silver in billiards event
HA NOI (VNS)— Ngo Dinh Nai clinched a silver medal for Viet Nam in the men's billiards 1 cushion single event at the ongoing Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Incheon, South Korea, yesterday.
However, Nai could find no way past Hwang Durkhee of South Korea in the final.
Earlier, Ma Minh Cam won a bronze medal in the same event. He lost to Durkhee in the semi-final.
In the e-sports event, Nguyen Van Le also brought home a bronze medal in the men's Need for Speed discipline whilst in the League of Legends bronze medal match, Viet Nam lost to Chinese Taipei 2-0.
Two other bronze medals yesterday went to Truong Quoc Hung in the men's U75kg muay (kick-boxing) event and swimmer Hoang Quy Phuoc in the men's 100m butterfly.
Several Vietnamese muay martial artists also made it through to the final round.
Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat defeated Yaakub Mohd Ali Bin of Malaysia 5-0 in the men's U57kg; Phan Thi Ngoc Linh overcame Yang Yang of China 4-1 in the women's U54kg; and in the women's U51kg, Bui Yen Ly defeated Lee Sun of South Korea.
In the women's red snooker single round of 32, Tran Thi Truc Xinh was defeated by Huang Hsin of Chinese Taipei.
Do The Kien also lost to Kwok Chi Ho of Hong Kong in the men's 9 ball single round of 16. — VNS
