With Nghe An Southeast Economic Zone andtaking advantage of the area of Vinh city (level-1 urban, one of the country’s economic, cultural, education and health centres of the North Central region), Nghe An and Vinh city will focus on attracting investment projects in the fields of trade, tourism, education, training of high-quality human resources, modern health-care, finance, credit, banking, transportation, insurance, telecommunications, clean industry and high technology.
The Southeast EZ covers an area of 18,800 hectares and part of Nghi Loc district, Dien Chau district and part of Cua Lo town. Under the planning, this is an integrated, multi-functional and multidisciplinary economic area and expected to become a centre of international trade, industry, tourism, commerce, a big port of Northern Central area of Vietnam, and a major urban centre of Nghe An. Attracting investment into the Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An towards multi-discipline and multi-function associated with the city of Vinh province to become a breakthrough is important to the development of Nghe An.
Having the advantage of Cua Lo as a famous tourism spot of Nghe An as well as of the country, Nghe An is also planning to build Vinh – Cua Lo Avenue to connect the city of Vinh and the sea tourist town and to implement the project of Cua Lo deep-water port; Vinh – Cua Lo Avenue. In town, Nghe An gives priorities to the development of tourism, entertainment, commerce, education and textiles projects along with luxury hotels.
Hoang Mai- Dong Hoi Industrial Park, in association with the Nam Thanh – Bac Nghe area, is where projects on construction materials industry with leading scale in Nghe An is located. In Hoang Mai – Dong Hoi Industrial Park, the province puts many efforts to attract investment in the development of key industries including building materials, cement, thermal power, steel, mechanical engineering, petrochemistry, supporting industry. At the same time, the province invests in the construction of Dong Hoi Port, infrastructure of Dong Hoi, Hoang Mai 1, Hoang Mai 2 Industrial Parks.
In eastern area of Nghe An (Nghia Dan – Thai Hoa – Quy Hop – Tan Ky), the province focuses on attracting investment for raising cattle, crops and agro-forestry products such as sugarcane, rubber, tea, flower, and for processing fruits, meat and dairy products. Besides the province continues to implement projects on hydropower, cement, construction materials, and minerals.
That industrial clusters are located in different areas in the province is for increasing the economic capacity of those localities, accelerating the industrialization of rural areas and creating the best conditions for business production. Nghe An tends to attract projects with suitable scale, ensure preparation time, implement and put projects into operation quickly, promote efficiency, address employment, and protect the environment.
To ensure proper investment and planning of key areas, Nghe An will always focus on big investors with potential and experience, especially the large corporations in the country as well as multinational companies in the North East Asia area (Japan, Korea, Taiwan), ASEAN countries (Thailand, Singapore), and the USA.
