He commended the village’s staff for their achievements over the past time. With all efforts, they overcame difficulties and were active in receiving and giving rehabilitation treatment to over 5,000 veterans and more than 500 children suffering from Agent Orange/Dioxin, and providing vocational training for those children.

Highlighting the Party and the State’s guideline on “gratitude work”, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich said that the Ministry of National Defence has given financial assistance to the village, as well as provided other necessary facilities. In 2013 alone, the ministry sponsored the village with about VND 2 billion as gratitude from the army to policy beneficiaries in general, and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in particular.

Talking with children of Agent Orange/Dioxin at the vocational training and special education classes and inquiring after veterans under treatment in the village, the general expressed his deep sentiment for and highly appreciated their struggle for a better life.

He hoped that the veterans, children and the village’s staff would bring the national tradition into full play, overcome difficulties to integrate into society soon and help develop the village.
