PANO – Under the guidelines of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, a wide range of training courses and sports festivals was held at all levels in the first half of 2013.
Over the past time, about 2,400 training courses were opened for more than 176,000 trainees to improve their command ability.
Besides, army units hosted 29 sports festivals and competitions to promote troops’ health and skills, as well as unit’s training quality.
The General Staff sent 3 teams to monitor training courses in 11 units, inspect units’ implementation of the “Building comprehensively strong unit” movement and tour constructions of training grounds and firing ranges for coming tasks.
In addition, the General Staff also instructed units to train their troops to prepare for the 23rd ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet in Myanmar and the whole-army military training course in 2014, and to master new subordinate weapons and equipment.
