Vietnam Food Industries Joint Stock Company (VIFON) recently hosted the 50th founding anniversary (July 23, 1963 – 2013) in Ho Chi Minh City. On this occasion, the company was awarded the Labour Order of the First Grade by Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan.
Founded on July 23, 1963, the company ran up to three production factories in 1967, including VIFOINCO, VILIHICO and VIKAINCO, which made products all branded VIFON. After 1975, VIFON was managed by the government with the new name of Tan Binh Seasoning Powder Factory affiliated to the Union of Seasoning Powder – Instant Noodle Factory. On May 9, 1992, the Ministry of Light Industries decided to merge the Union of Seasoning Powder – Instant Noodle Factory and Tan Binh Seasoning Powder Factory into the Vietnam Food Industries Company (VIFON).
After 50 years of construction and development, VIFON not only sells its products in the domestic market but also exports them to more than 50 countries in the world, including demanding markets like US, Australia, Japan the South Korea and the European Union. Export turnover increased 10 percent a year on average.
At the 50th founding anniversary, VIFON donated VND500 million to Vietnam Children Support Foundation.
