* How do you find the vestiges, scenic spots here in the context that Phu Yen is striving to put tourism sector at the sharp-pointed economic sector?

Phu Yen possesses a system of national level vestiges, and this system is not realy dense. However, putting some other localities in consideration, with the 18 vestiges and national scenic spots of Phu Yen, this is not a minor one. Another distinguishing feature is Phu Yen has a variety of scenic spots including: historical vestiges, art and architecture vestiges, archeological vestiges and scenic spots.

I’m really impressed by the value of natural beauty in here of Phu Yen, so nice, unique, and Da Dia reef (in Tuy An) is a “must”, as well as the cluster of scenic spots of Da Bia mountain, Mon beach-Dien cape house, the relics of no-number vessel-Vung Ro. What a pity that the locality hasn’t yet developed the values of these scenic spots for investment and tourism exploitation.

Seeing the farily favorable geographical location (right in the middle of the central region, the gateway to the East Sea of the central highlands, together with the greatly potential in tourism, which includes the particular landscape, the province’s orientation, tourism will surely be the sharp-pointed economic sector, I do think these are the essential factors for aspiring Phu Yen to become an attractive, hospitable tourism destination in the short coming future.

* What are your proposals as well as recommendation for Phu Yen province as far as the issue of preserving and developing the vestiges’ value is concern?

Developing tourism and preserving the value of cultural vestiges has a very close-knit relation. Preserving and well developing the cultural values will be the precious resources for developing and attracting tourists. On the contrary, tourism that is strongly developed is definitely the considerable source in developing and advertising the cultural values to domestic and international friends, from which to have more sources to reinvest in the task of solidifying, upgrading and reconstructing the vestiges. Once the cultural vestiges are recognized at the national level, or even at higher level, the vestige of the human kind, the value will surely be greater. I myself personally think that Phu Yen has chosen tourism an economic sector, which proves that the province needs to more boldly invest for the sake of preserving cultural vestiges, through various sources: the provincial budget, taking advantage of the capital of the national target program on culture, socialization that uses the legal financial sources, the NGOs…all join hands to contribute.
