The scientists at the University of Nottingham (UK) have developed a new stove, called “Score-Stove”, it is not only used for cooking but also it can generate electricity.
Score-Stove works on the principle of heat exploitation from cooking to operate the sound temperature cooler, and then heats the top of the characterized shape pipe, while the other will be cooled. This process will make the air inside the tube is compressed, and shaken pipe, at the same time generate fairly strong sound waves and convert into electricity. Sound intensity of tube is more than 170dB, but outside we almost did not hear.
Although a small amount of electricity is generated (compared to 150 watts goal of the team), but the Score-Stove can change the life of rural people through the lighting and charging small electrical devices such as mobile phones. In addition, Score-Stove also improves cooking efficiency, reduces emissions of greenhouse gasses and the risk of exposure to kitchen smoke.
