Increasing its provincial competitiveness index (PCI) ranking, Bac Lieu province achieved a spectacular position at seventh in the 2012 ranking. This result came from the concentration, share and support from provincial People’s Committee, departments and sectors, which has brought benefits for many companies in this potential land, Ty Lien Plastic One Member Limited Company is one of these companies.

Formed as a Ty Lien Plastic Facility in 2002 producing plastic household products, mould manufacturing and label printing, in 2009 its name was changed into Ty Lien Plastic One Member Limited Company (Ty Lien), which possessed distribution channels through all Mekong Delta provinces. After years of striving, Ty Lien took a major development step with modern production lines and diversified high quality products. In November 2009, Ty Lien launched a mould manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a breakthrough to expand its market and make favourable conditions for Ty Lien’s products to come closer to domestic and foreign consumers.

With modern equipment, Ty Lien can produce a wide range of products characterised by high stability and cost savings, thus reducing its product prices and enhancing market competitiveness. Currently, besides plastic household products, Ty Lien also produces many sorts of products applied in the fishery industry, temporary freezing seafood products, and is highly rated by consumers. As a result of tactical investment and continuously improving production capacity, Ty Lien always completes its plans and achieves remarkable growth. In 2012, its production reached 300 tonnes (80 percent exported to Cambodia) and brought profit of VND 240 billion, up about 15 – 17 percent on-year. Furthermore, Ty Lien possesses plastic recycling production line, which marks an advantage in production as well as environment protection, supporting the sustainable development of Ty Lien brand.

Through years of development, Ty Lien has become a common home for hundreds of local labourers, most of them female and ethnic minorities. Thanks to Ty Lien’s directors, most labourers have a medium living standard. With its majority female and ethnic minority workforce, Ty Lien’s role becomes clearer in the local economy, taking part in solving unemployment and social welfare in the province.

By continuously engaging in domestic and international exhibitions, Ty Lien can foresee an overall picture of its sector and understand trends in the plastics industry, designing appropriate plans for the actual situation, minimising fluctuation brought from this sector. Moreover, international exhibitions help Ty Lien gain experience in governance and efficient management with the newest transferred technologies in order to serve its businesses. In the following time, Ty Lien will invest in modern machinery with a value of USD one million, helping it increase production about 30 percent as well as reduce energy use. Thus, in the near future, Ty Lien brand will become a highlight of the plastics industry in Bac Lieu province, and the country generally.
