PANO – After a seminar in Vientiane, Laos, the delegation from press agencies of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by Lieutenant General Le Phuc Nguyen, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam People’s Army Newspaper, paid a working visit to the Military Command of Laos’ Kham Muon Province on September 25th.
>>> Vietnam and Lao increase press cooperation
At the reception for the Vietnamese delegation, Political Commander of the command briefed them on the economic, social and cultural situations of the province, and stressed the effective cooperation between the command and the Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provincial Military Commands of Vietnam, and relevant organs of Military Zone 4 over the past years.
The Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provincial Military Commands helped the Kham Muon provincial Military Command improve its cadres’ professionalism, and repair and upgrade technical equipment. These units regularly promoted information exchanges and together dealt with unexpected problems for a peaceful, friendly and cooperative borderline.
Meanwhile, cadres, troops and people of Kham Muon province actively provided assistance to help Vietnamese search teams find and gather the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos in different periods. Thanks to this support, during the 2012-2013 dry season, Team 589 of the Quang Binh provincial Military Command gathered 50 sets of remains of martyrs. In the coming time, the Kham Muon provincial Military Command will continue instructing forces to help the team gather more remains of martyrs.
On behalf of the delegation, general Nguyen thanked the Lao side for their warm reception and said that the timely dissemination of the results of the cooperation between Vietnamese and Lao military units will contribute to building and promoting the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity – a unique relationship in the history of international relations.
