The Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition has just opened in Mui Ne-Phan Thiet in the central province of Binh Thuan to mark the 9th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Days on November 23.

The Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards have been held annually by Vietnam Heritage Association in collaboration with HCMC Cultural Heritage Association, Vietnam Heritage Magazine and Canon–the main sponsor. They present an advantageous opportunity for photographers to express their love and pride for their homeland, Vietnamese people and country through their works.
Since it was launched in June, the contest received 6,016 entries covering Vietnam heritage, and on topics such as architecture, sculpture, painting, handicrafts, villages, music, dance, festivals, folk games and religion.
Of the 6,016 entries received, nearly 3,800 were single photos and 267 were photo albums by 339 photographers. According to the organizers, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thuan had the most number of participating photographers. Hanoi had 65 participating photographers, Ho Chi Minh City had 51 photographers and Binh Thuan had 20 participating photographers.
The organizers selected more than 100 outstanding photos to exhibit in 16 provinces, namely, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Can Tho, Hanoi, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Bac Lieu, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Dong Nai, An Giang , Thua Thien-Hue, Lam Dong and Quang Binh from 22nd October 2013 to 28th February 2014 .
The awards ceremony will take place at the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21 on occasion of the 9th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Days. Besides that, the best photos will be printed in the magazine, website of Vietnam Heritage and on the Fan Page of Canon Vietnam.
