The Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October increased 0.17 percent compared to the previous month.
The City CPI rose 4.61 percent compared to the beginning of the year, and 4.89 percent year-on-year.
Commodity and services groups which saw an increase in prices included restaurants and catering services with 0.41 percent, garment-hats-footwear with 0.29 percent; education with 0.22 percent; medicines and healthcare services with 0.1 percent; and beverages and cigarettes with 0.07 percent.
Meanwhile, cultural and entertainment services fell 0.33 percent; transport posted a decrease of 0.24 percent; goods and other services slumped 0.17 percent; and post and telecommunication tripped 0.14 percent.
