Long and heavy rains caused serious flooding in several areas of HCM City.
Hoa Binh Road in District 11 and Tan Hoa Road in District 6 are the most seriously affected; they are half-a-meter under water. The flooding forced a series of vehicles to break down and a lot of pedestrians to wade across streets.
Flooding has caused serious traffic congestion at several points and many workers and students were late getting to their offices and schools.
Business activities came to a halt and many store owners along these streets complained about slow sales.
Many local students had to wade across flooded streets to get to schools and some parents even carried their children on their backs.
