(CPV) - On October 25, the Hanoi husbandry, veterinary and aquaculture fair opened at 489 Hoang Quoc Viet street, Cau Giay district.
This year’s fair, attracting 140 kiosks, aims to promote trade and popularize development achievements of the city’s husbandry, veterinary and aquaculture sector to other provinces and cities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Thanh Van, Director of the Hanoi city Department of Agriculture and Rural Development affirmed that over the past few years, the city’s husbandry and aquaculture sector saw positive changes. Total livestock and poultry in the city topped the country with more than 149,000 cows, over 1.3 million pigs and over 18.8 million poultry. Aquaculture area reached 14,890 hectares and breeding seafood volume was more than 32,400 tonnes. So far, husbandry and production value hit more than 51 percent of agriculture GDP.
Mr Nguyen Ngoc Son, Deputy Head of the organising board said that on the sideline of the fair, there will be a “Bridge span of farmers” programme with the main focus on technical advisory, experience exchange and direct dialogue between managers, scientists, producers, traders and farmers.
During the fair, some seminars and meetings on consuming products, dealing with environment, husbandry food and veterinary medicine to attract organisations, individuals, scientists and managers to give specific solutions on connection chains for husbandry products consumption in the future between Hanoi and other provinces and cities will be organised.
