At a reception held on Friday in Hanoi for E. Shvydkoi, the Russian President’s envoy for international cultural ties, President Truong Tan Sang said Vietnam and Russia have gained fruitful results in economic and cultural cooperation.
President Sang welcomed the envoy’s visit that was made in preparation for the upcoming official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The President expressed his pleasure at the robust development in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, adding that the two sides have teamed up to promote their cultural exchanges.
The Vietnamese leader also said he agreed with the initiative to beef up cooperation in press between the two countries. He suggested that the two countries set up an annual plan to make their cooperation more practical.
He also confirmed the effective cooperation between Vietnam News Agency and Russia’s ITAR-TASS over the past time.
For his part, Shvydkoi said he believes that the Russian President’s upcoming visit will help boost cooperation ties between the two countries. The envoy also expressed his pleasure to return and see Vietnam’s dynamic development.
