Nhan Dan Online/VNA – The ongoing state visit by Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev to Vietnam manifests the strong traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria, according to Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

In a meeting with the Bulgarian leader in Hanoi on October 29, she declared that the relationship between the nations has been nurtured and promoted by leaders of both sides over the past 60 years, and will continue to thrive in the future.

President Plevneliev expressed his admiration for the many great achievements Vietnam has recorded during its national construction and socio-economic development phases, adding that strong bilateral ties will help move co-operation forward for the benefit of both nations.

The two met with Vietnamese students who had studied in Bulgaria, and enjoyed an art performance by Bulgarian artists.

Earlier, the Bulgarian President visited Ha Long Bay – a world natural heritage site in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
