Vietnam contemporary art introduced to the UK

(VOV) -A picture of “Saint Giong” ” by artist Nguyen Tu Nghiem is on display at the Museum of Cambridge City from October 28-November 2 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UK.



The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in collaboration with Prof-Dr. Susan Bayly from the University of Cambridge’s Department of Social Anthropology has made many presentations to the public so far.


This event is part of the “Idea Festival” taking place at the University of Cambridge-one of the oldest and famous universities in the UK to honour the values of arts, humanity, and social sciences.


Many visitors have shown keen interest in the legend of Saint Giong- a symbol of the spirit and the strength of the Vietnamese nation in the fight against foreign invasion.


Dr Susan Bayly’s presentation is about Vietnam’s contemporary arts. She said that the event provided a good opportunity for British people get better understand of Vietnam’s national culture, especially its contemporary arts.
