A unique French – Vietnamese concert combining western jazz and traditional Vietnamese instruments will be held on November 27 in Hanoi.
Called “Friends Reunited”, the concert will begin 8 p.m. at the French cultural center L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street.
Performers will include saxophonist – composer Tran Manh Tuan; composer-bassist Emmanuel de Gouvello; saxophonist Christophe Azema; guitarist Jean Marie Frédéric; and bassist Vivian Pères.
Together, the musicians call themselves the Mezcal Jazz Unit. The French musicians have returned to the country to reunite with Vietnamese friends in this new French-Vietnamese program following successful collaborations in several concerts in both France and Vietnam from 2002 to 2007, especially with “Search for Wind” in 2005.
Tickets priced from VND60,000 (for members of L’Espace and students) to VND120 000 are being sold at the venue in Hoan Kiem District.
