(VEN) – The General Department of Customs said that bilateral trade between Vietnam and Laos reached US$723.6 million in the first nine months of this year, including US$329 million worth of Vietnamese exports, a 12.3 percent increase from a year ago, and US$394.6 million worth of Vietnamese imports, a 10.3 percent increase.
Wood, wood products, metal ore and minerals were Vietnam’s major imports from Laos accounting for more than 80 percent of all imports from this market in recent years. Wood and wood product imports came to US$246.7 million in the first nine months of this year, a 2.4 percent decline, while metal ore and mineral imports increased by 26 percent to US$18.5 million./.
