Border guards rescue distressed fishermen

PANO – Two ships with 14 troops of the Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command has rescued 7 fishermen in distress on November 29th.

Previously, at 6am the same day, after being notified of the news that a fishing boat with 7 fishermen on board had sunk near Cha La islet in Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa, the command sent ships and troops to conduct search and rescue.


However, it took the rescue team three hours to reach the scene, due to bad weather, and then provided them with first aid and towed them ashore.


Meanwhile, in the early morning of November 28th, trawler NA-90249 with 10 fishermen, all from Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, on board was sunk by tough waves.


Immediately, two ships of the Quynh Thuan border post of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, in combination with two local trawlers, approached the scene but none victim was found.


The command is directing its troops to work with local fishing ships surrounding the scene to continue searching the victims.
