Many research topics in the field of hydrometeorology and climate change to be applied in practice

Department of Science and Technology has recently reported to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha on the implementation of scientific research in the field of hydrometeorology and climate change.


As reported by the Department of Science and Technology , in 2013 units of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmenthave carried out ​research topics of 3 levels, including State-level topics, Ministerial-level and local-level topics. 9 state-level topics, 19 ministry-level topics and 32 local-level topics on Hydrometeorology and Climate Change were conducted by 4 units including Department of Hydrometeorology & Climate Change, Institute of strategy and policy on Natural resources and Environment, Vietnam Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment and Center for Hydrometeorology. According to Mr.Nguyen Dac Dong- Department of Science and Technology: Upon approval of research topics, relevant units have carried out earnest performance and no research topic has been cancelled. There has been a huge funding granted for hydrometeorology as this is a research topic on which a lot of Ministerial-level and local-level works have been conducted. There are many studies that are subject to the practical application .


Addressing this task, Deputy Minister Tran Hong Ha applauded the Department of Science and Technology for methodical supervise over units’ execution while managing a huge amount of topics. Deputy Minister recommended that the Department should promote further research of practical values in the upcoming time.
