VietNamNet Bridge – Recently, the very valuable photos of Vietnam in late 19th century and early 20th century were published on Gallica.bnf.fr, in the surprise of so many people.
These photos are very valuable because they were taken by the famous photographer Heliog Dujardin and they reflect a comprehensive view of the Vietnamese society at that time.
The photos were published in a book in 1903 titled “L’ Indochine” of Louis Salaun. However, at that time, the photos were not common so they gradually drifted into oblivion.
After Gallica.bnf.fr posted the photos, the pictures have impressed so many people for its authenticity and history.
