(VOV) – Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on November 25 received Vilayvong Bouddakham, vice chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, on a current visit to Vietnam.

Doan noted the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is a valuable treasure that should be preserved and developed by the two countries’ future generations.
Reality shows both countries could not secure complete victories in their past struggles for national liberation and make tremendous achievements in national construction and defence without such special solidarity, she said.
She acknowledged efforts by the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship Associations in celebrating the Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012 between the two countries, primarily the organisation of the third Vietnam-Laos friendship festival and the special publication of “Vietnam and Laos in my heart” in both Vietnamese and Laotian.
Vilayvong Bouddakham said Lao people bear in mind the wholehearted support and invaluable assistance given by Vietnamese people during their process of national construction and defence.
She assured Doan the two friendship associations will increase exchanges and educate young generations on the special ties between Laos and Vietnam.
