A friendship fashion show on Ao dai and Hanbok, the traditional dresses of Vietnam and South Korea, took place at Keangnam Landmark Tower in Hanoi to welcome a state-level visit to Vietnam by South Korean President Park Geun Hye from September 7-11, 2013.

Thirty-four Ao dai designs of two Vietnamese designers Si Hoang and Lan Huong and 34 Hanbok designs of 17 South Korean designers were introduced at the show. The Ao dai designs of Lan Huong were created from brocade in the royal style with delicate embroidered lotus and those in the “Vuong trieu” (Royal Dynasty) collection of Si Hoang showed the luxury of royal costumes through patterns of red phoenixes and the sun.

Through the South Korean fashion collections which were diversified in sizes and styles with both simple casual and formal designs for people of all ages, the Vietnamese audience perceived the beauty and cultural features of the South Korean people.

Addressing the event, South Korean President Park Geun Hye said the fashion event expressed the friendship between Vietnam and South Korea, opening a bright future for cooperation of the two countries.
The traditional fashion show of Ao dai and Hanbok held for the first time in Hanoi will help the relationship between the two countries develop strongly in the near future.
