United Nations Annual climate change Conference (CC) was held in Warsaw, Poland on November 11 and 12, 2013. This conference has great significance in promoting the construction of a new international legally binding agreement in response to global climate change by 2015.
Right from the first day of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation has actively participated in related activities. Speaking at the opening session, the Vietnamese delegation expressed gratitude to other countries and international organizations for their sympathy and solidarity with the people of the countries that are suffering from Haiyan storm. As an ASEAN member and also a neighboring country, Vietnam empathizes with all the losses and hardship that the Filipinos are going through and pledges to provide support for the Filipinos to overcome the current difficult circumstances. Besides, the Vietnamese delegation stressed the on-going disasters as the negative impact of climate change, and urged countries to early promote negotiations to achieve a comprehensive agreement to deal with this challenge.
On the sideline of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation also attended and presented at a number of workshops to share experiences and call for the attention of the international community to deal with the climate change adaptation and response that Vietnam are implementing. The delegation in collaborated with the Japanese delegation organized”Workshop on the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) and the strengthening of JCM”, ” Workshop on preparation for the development and implementation of NAMAs “, ” Workshop on strengthening national inventory of greenhouse gases and support of Japan. ” In addition, representatives of the delegation have attended ” The 15th Meeting of the Clean Development Mechanism Forum ” chaired by the Secretariat of the Convention. Many delegations, such as Finland and Japan’s have met with the Vietnamese delegation to discuss the contents of common concern, including the deployment of JCM, the elimination of HFC in industrial production…
