To date, contractors have accomplished the construction of 13 out of 15 abutments of Han bridge (connecting Hai Duong city and Nam Sach district) and the retaining walls behind abutments M1 and M2.
The constructional forces have also casted 58 out of 70 super T girder slabs, completed spans 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the bridge floor, and increased the load of the approach to the bridge-end on the Hai Duong city side.
Contractors LICOGI 18.6 and TASCO JSC have simultaneously organized five constructional directions with three consecutive shifts to cast super T girders of tender packages 1 and 3, construct piers T9, T10 and block K0 of pier T8 of tender package 2.
It is expected that the units will complete the construction of the piers T9 and T10 and start building continuous box girders to connect the two bridge-ends in early January 2014.
The greatest difficulty at the moment is the shortage of constructional capital. The completed workload is estimated at over VND300 billion to date and expected to amount to VND360 billion at the end of 2013, equivalent to 79% of the total capital for building the bridge.
The constructional units have been allocated only VND266 billion so far.
