Hai Duong province’s index of industrial production (IIP) in 2013 rose 8.1% compared with 2012, 2.2% higher than the country’s average growth, according to the provincial Statistical Office.

Items with IIP increasing significantly are mineral mining (5%); processing and manufacturing (6.7%); production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning (13.7%); water supply, management and treatment of garbage and wastewater (10.9%), etc.

Despite many economic difficulties, many enterprises in the area have bravely invested in modern equipment, expanded production, improved product quality, and looked for new consumer markets.

The increase in IIP indicates that production and business in the area have continued to be maintained stably with many positive changes.

In December 2013 alone, Hai Duong province’s IIP jumped 11.4% over the same period last year.
