A ceremony welcoming its 3 millionth passenger of 2013 was held at Cam Ranh Airport in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on December 28.
“Khanh Hoa received more than 3 million visitors to coastal city of Nha Trang, presenting a year on year increase of over 29 percent” said by Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, .
Among them were nearly 712,000 foreign tourists and around 2.3 million domestic travelers, up 34 percent and 28 percent.
Khanh Hoa also welcomed 11 million others who took one-day visits.
Russia was ranked the first in top countries sending citizens to Khanh Hoa with 150,000 arrivals.
In addition, Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport received its 20th million passenger of 2013 on December 24. The nation’s busiest airport has welcomed more than 20 million passengers this year; including nine million foreign travelers, presenting a year-on-year increase of 14 percent. In 2013, 375,000 tons of cargo was transported via Tan Son Nhat Airport, an increase of 10 percent from 2012.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tourism Association of Ho Chi Minh City, and Vietnam Airlines also held a welcome ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to greet the fourth million international tourist to the City on December 24.
On the same day, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a welcome ceremony for the second million tourist to visit Hue in 2013
