PANO- The 1st National Defence-Security Education Festival 2013 for high schools nationwide was launched in Dong Nai province on December 12th by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Present at the event were delegates from the Central Steering Board on Defence-Security Education, the Ministries of Education and Training, National Defence and Public Security, leaders of Dong Nai province and over 300 participants from high schools across the country.
During the 5-day event, participants will compete in categories of general knowledge of defence and security, national anthem singing, first-aid practice, grenade throwing, AK rifle disassembling, and 100m race.
Colonel Nguyen Thien Minh, Director of the Defence-Security Education Department, said that the festival aims to assess national defence and security education for high schools nationwide to draw lessons and adjust education methods, as well as create an opportunity for schools to improve national defence-security education in the coming years.
