New centre to give power-saving advice

The HCM City Power Corporation on Monday opened an information centre at 1 Phan Dang Luu Street in Binh Thanh District.


The centre will give guidance and information to the public on how to save electricity and use electricity safely and effectively.


Energy-saving tools will be displayed regularly at fairs organised by the centre.

State to fund investment promotions


The State will pay for all expenditures spent by businesses that organise or take part in exhibitions featuring Viet Nam’s investment environment, according to a new circular issued by the Finance Ministry that will take effect on May 5.


The exhibitions will be organised both at home and abroad. Activities that involve campaigns to attract investment to Viet Nam will be wholly funded by the State budget.

Rotterdam to advise on climate change


The vice chairman of HCM City’s People’s Committee, Nguyen Huu Tin, and the vice mayor of Rotterdam City of the Netherlands, Alexandra van Huffelenon, have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in climate change adaptation from 2013 to 2015. The major aim of the programme is to help HCM City better respond to climate change.
